Mariners Reformed Baptist Church holds to the Reformation doctrine of sola scriptura, and recognizes the Holy Scriptures (Thirty-nine Old Testament books, and twenty-seven New Testament books) as inspired, inerrant, and infallible, and the final court of appeal for faith and practice.
However, God has been pleased to providentially guide His church into the formulation of various orthodox creeds and confessions that provide a reasonable synopsis of Biblical doctrine. Mariners Reformed Baptist Church specifically embraces the
London Baptist Confession of 1689 as its primary statement of faith, and holds in high esteem various other Reformed documents, such as the
Westminster Confession of Faith, the
Canons of Dordt, and the
Heidelberg Catechism.
Mariners Reformed Baptist Church recognizes its duty to stand uncompromisingly for the gospel of God’s sovereign grace. Therefore, the church rejects outright modern dispensationalism, decisionism, ecumenicism, and “charismania.” In so doing, the church does not cast aspersions on the sincerity or salvation of those caught up in these aberrant forms of theology. Our stand is against false teaching and false teachers, not the victims of false teaching.

Mariners Reformed Baptist Church began holding informal Bible studies in homes, in the Fall of 1996. As families and individuals were added to the fellowship, we moved initially to a commercial laundry facility, then to the Coos Bay Senior Center. We are currently located at the North Bend Housing Authority, 1700 Monroe, and have been since January, 2001.
The church was fully constituted with ordained leadership in the Spring of 2001, and has continued to increase its outreach into the community, as well as around the world through literature and teaching CDs.
